. . . My computer is acting funny, help!?

Okay. I will admit, I am computer stupid, but I know something is wrong for sure. I have an acer aspire one mini laptop. I've had it for a year and a half now. I usually put my computer to sleep. And so I felt I must put that because it will help later. Yesterday when I was on my bed, I no more then tipped the computer screen just a tiny bit forward, and the screen went black. Before this, I could close it almost half way and it wouldn't turn off. It keeps happening, and so I am testing it, and it still does it. And I just now noticed, when I closed my laptop (This is how it goes into sleep mode) to go eat dinner, I came back and opened it, it was still on!! It never shut off. It's never done this before. . This is worrying me. Something wrong is with my screen or something, cause my laptop is acting weird. Do you have any idea on what it might be that's causing it's issues?
