Should i take the national AP gov't exam?

Currently I am taking AP government in high school. Taking the national AP exam in may is an option to earn the college credit. Is government required in college? Or PSU/OSU requirement? Or would I just be wasting my time. I am leaning more on the medical side than on any law professions. Should I take it, or will I just be wasting my time? Mainly my question is...is a government class required for college/university graduation?
