Do you think i hurt my boyfriends feelings by not telling him i loved him back?

The other day my boyfriend of 2 and 1/2 months told me he loved me for the first time, but i didn't say it back. He didn't straight up say it, but he wrote it in a card, and then pointed to that specific part and said, "I really mean that." It seems to me if he really meant it he would've been able to say it. He's 17 and i'm 16, and i just don't know. I've never been in love before. Do you think i hurt his feelings?
